Webster Springs is a welcoming town. Over 50 years ago, Rev. Bob Bondurant, former paster of Upperglade Presbyterian Church, began Webster Christian Mission, an ecumenical workcamp. WVMAW has partnered with them since 2012 to help bring hope to families in this area of WV.
ACCOMMODATIONS are a collaboration of the Baptist, Methodist and Catholic churches. The Mission Center has bunk beds, showers and a fully equipped kitchen, as well as lots of outdoor space.
SURROUNDING AREA—there is a grocery store nearby. There are some small cafes and fast food restaurants. Many folks enjoy The Custard Stand with their locally famous hot dog chili!
Greg Flanagan began working with neighbors during the flood, and has been helping to lead and teach WVMAW teams during recovery.
Jimmy Utt has been volunteering as the Director of Webster County Christian Workcamp for over 15 years, but has been helping out since he was 8 years old! Jimmy and his wife Luella love to work with the teams. His ‘day job” is with Central WV Aging Services.
