Webster Springs is a welcoming town. Over fifty years of work camps have operated in this area, begun by Rev. Bob Bondurant, former pastor of Upperglade Presbyterian Church. WVMAW has partnered with the Webster County Workcamp to help bring hope to families in this area of WV
ACCOMMODATIONS are a collaboration of the Baptist, Methodist and Catholic churches. The MISSION CENTER has bunk beds, showers and a fully equipped kitchen. The churches will often provide evening meals for many of the nights you are there!
SURROUNDING AREA—there is a grocery store nearby. There are some small cafes and fast food restaurants. Many folks enjoy The Custard Stand with their locally famous hot dog chili!
Greg Flanagan began working with neighbors during the flood, and has been helping to lead and teach WVMAW teams during recovery ever since.
Jimmy Utt has been volunteering as the director of Webster County Christian Workcamp for 13 years, but has been helping out since he was 8 years old! Jimmy and his wife Luella love to work with the teams. His ‘day job” is with Central WV Aging Services.
